When farming is done in a considerate and sustainable way, it has less impact on the environment.
We support practices which help the environment, provide a fair deal to employees and give consumers confidence that they're making a healthy and honest purchase.
We work with British farmers who
- show they consider the environmental impact of their daily activities - they can do this through membership of schemes such as the
-
- Environmental Stewardship Scheme,
- LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming),
- Red Tractor, GAP (Good Agricultural Practice)
- Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG)
- have a measurable Integrated Farm Management System (IFMS) - that is, an approach to farming which balances production with economic and environmental considerations
- protect their crops in ways that minimise residues.
